In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During your intake session we'll start by getting to know each other and establishing a comfortable, open environment. I'll ask you about your background, current concerns, and what brings you to counseling. We'll discuss your goals for therapy and what you hope to achieve. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask any questions and share any thoughts or feelings you have about the counseling process. Together, we'll explore your needs and begin to outline a personalized plan for your journey. My goal is to ensure you feel heard, understood, and supported as we start working together. This first session is all about building a strong foundation for our work and setting the stage for meaningful progress.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have over 20 years experience utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). It is a structured, evidence-based approach that helps clients identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors contributing to emotional distress. In therapy, the therapist and client work collaboratively to set specific goals, understand the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, and challenge cognitive distortions. I introduce behavioral techniques, such as exposure therapy and behavioral activation, and teach coping strategies like problem-solving and relaxation techniques. Clients practice these skills through homework assignments, with progress regularly reviewed and adjusted. As therapy concludes, I focus on consolidating gains, preparing the client for independent use of CBT techniques, and planning for future challenges.
