My goal is to be the last therapist you have to see, that when we are done working together you have the skills to be able to manage life on your own. I love facilitating change and would love to help you develop a better way of being. I have found that developing a better relationship with yourself is essential for many people to achieve their goals. Self-awareness is not self-criticism. Having had experience working with many different people from many different backgrounds and issues has helped me to see how I can fit the tools I carry into something useful for you.
Our initial meeting will be a mix of information gathering and introduction of key concepts. I like to front load information about the mechanics of how we tick as human beings.
I genuinely want nothing more that to help facilitate growth and awareness. I am always grateful when I earn a clients trust.
To get the most out of working with me you need to have a desire to change and be ready to work, otherwise I’m just an expensive friend. J
The main foundational approach is skills based in order to assist with changing how we do things and how we interact with our thoughts. Just talking about problems is like washing your clothes without ever changing the water.
I use a combination of emotionally focused couples therapy in addition to psych educational and cbt based interventions
I have utilized DBT for many years in order to assist people with developing a foundation in emotional regulation, distress tolerance and interpersonal effectiveness
I use a variety of evidence based treatments to assist with trauma resolution and have experience with a variety of causal reasons for the trauma exoerienced
