I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and Life Coach with 15 years’ experience. I believe that all people have the ability to heal, and with the right guidance and support you can break free from whatever you feel is holding you back from living the life you want to live. Are you dealing with anxiety, life transitions, depression, stress, personal, or relational issues? Working with a therapist to overcome your challenges can be a crucial part of coping with life's ups and downs.
The first 1-2 session will focus on what brings you to therapy, your goals for our time together, and any challenges you are facing. I will also gather a comprehensive history of your life so that I can get a clear picture of which therapeutic approach will be best for you. You will also have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.
I don’t believe that therapy is a one size fits all, so my approach will vary based on your presenting concerns. My greatest strengths as a therapist are empathy, the ability to be fully present, and create a safe place where you can be fully seen and let down your guard. I understand that life can be hard sometimes, and you are deserving of support. I like to use a combination of evidence-based techniques tailored to address your unique situation. Together we’ll work collaboratively to identify your areas of concern, process your feelings, and learn new ways of being that support the changes you are wishing to see. My role as your therapist is to support you, encourage you, and provide a safe space for your journey of growth and self-discovery. I understand that balancing life, work, family, and friends can feel overwhelming, and I aim to support you as you learn to live a more authentic, healthy, and emotionally fulfilling life. I would be honored to be a part of that journey.

I’ve seen several therapists before, but working with Jenesis Shaw has been a completely different experience. For the first time, I feel like I have real structure in how I understand and process my thoughts and emotions. She’s helped me gain clarity, stay grounded, and actually make progress. Therapy no longer feels like something I have to do it’s something I value deeply now. Highly recommend.

Without a doubt, this is the most comfortable I have felt in wanting to grow and progress and a lot of that has to do with the style that Jenesis uses. She is very attentive, solution-oriented and has a perfect balance of providing tools while allowing for independent growth.
