New to Grow
My name is Emily, I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated to helping individuals and families navigate life's most challenging transitions. I believe that the foundation of effective therapy is a strong, trusting relationship. My greatest strength is my ability to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you feel truly seen and heard. Through our work together, we'll navigate the challenges that have left you feeling disconnected so you can feel like yourself again. The goal is to give you a trusting environment and unwavering support to help you build a bridge back to you.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first meeting is an important step in your journey, I want to ensure that our work together is the right fit for your needs and that you feel supported from the very beginning. I recognize that starting therapy can feel daunting, so I strive to make our initial session as relaxed as possible. Together, we'll talk about your goals and explore how I can best support you in reaching them.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is making clients feel comfortable and establishing trust from the very first session. I recognize how much courage it takes to open up about deeply personal topics, so I prioritize creating a safe and supportive environment where we can build a genuine, trusting relationship together. Clients often remain with me long term because they feel truly seen, heard, and supported—and because they know that I will both encourage and challenge them as they work toward their goals. My commitment is to walk alongside you, celebrating your progress and supporting you in whatever ways you need to thrive.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I have a wide range of experience helping individuals with various life challenges, but my truest passions lie in helping individuals trying to build their families. I specialize in infertility, 3rd party reproduction, perinatal mental health, and postpartum. Also, as a prior military spouse, I have a deep passion and extensive training in military culture and support.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I incorporate evidence-based therapeutic approaches tailored to each individual's needs, with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) being a foundational part of my practice. In our sessions, we collaboratively build coping skills, practice mindfulness, and develop positive self-talk to help you reshape how you view and respond to life’s challenges. My goal is to support you in a way that feels both comfortable and effective, empowering you to find new perspectives and lasting growth.
Strength-Based
I use a strength-based approach by highlighting your unique capabilities and resources throughout our work together. This means we focus on identifying and building upon your existing strengths, helping you recognize the resilience and skills you already possess.
Narrative
I also use narrative techniques in our sessions, encouraging you to talk about your experiences and values. By looking at your personal story together, we can identify recurring themes and strengths, helping you gain clarity and move forward with a better understanding of yourself.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
During sessions, I guide you through simple mindfulness exercises—such as focused breathing or grounding techniques—to help you notice your thoughts and feelings without judgment. This practice not only reduces stress but also empowers you to respond thoughtfully, rather than react impulsively, to life's challenges. Over time, developing these skills can lead to greater self-understanding and resilience, supporting your overall well-being both inside and outside of sessions.
