Life is messy and together, we have a chance to be creative with the challenges you have faced. I specialize in working with individuals navigating life transitions, self-esteem challenges, body image issues, anxiety, and depression. Practicing from a culturally sensitive lens, I take a collaborative, client-centered approach to therapy because I believe you are the expert of your own experience. I prioritize a safe, nonjudgemental environment to foster a culture of support and open communication between us. I am an active listener and will provide you with opportunities for reflection from a validating and empathic collaborator. If we are engaged in challenging work, you can expect me to be patient, calm, and open-minded. As you are the expert of your experience, I am flexible to your needs and feedback--whether that is challenging you more, providing you with therapeutic homework for practice and consistency between sessions, or something else specific to our work together. I welcome you to reach out when you feel ready.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session is an opportunity to get to know one another. We'll discuss what brings you to therapy, your background, and if you've been to therapy before, what you liked and didn't like about therapy in the past. We will utilize the first session as the foundation to build upon, as therapy is a process. It is normal for a first session to feel awkward or anxiety-provoking. We will work together to go at the pace that is most comfortable for you and to feel valued every step of the way.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am an unconventional person and unconventional therapist. My perspective is that in order to have a happier, more just, more fair, more healed world, we must really show up for one another, and I am really here to show up for you. I will treat you like you're you, and I'm me, not you're a client and I'm a therapist. I will change my approach to what you're needing and I will trust and believe you when you speak from your experience. I am open and receptive to feedback of all kinds and value your perspective of our work. I am here to support you in growing and changing into the most happy, healthy, and authentic version of yourself that you want to be.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with adults who are managing anxiety, adjustment challenges, communication challenges, and self-esteem issues in an ever-changing and uncertain world. As an ally of the BIPOC, LGBTQ+, Alternative Lifestyle, and BDSM/Kink communities, I practice from a culturally sensitive and humble lens. Whether you've been managing these challenges briefly, or they have been lifelong, I will work with you to create a framework that fosters your growth that feels empowering and attainable.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I utilize attachment-based therapy to explore attachment based patterns pervasive throughout one's life, while providing skills of how to maintain or change attachment style. Additionally, I utilize attachment based therapy to support in building insight around past and present relational dynamics.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize CBT to support in challenging negative thoughts, increasing coping skills, and supporting the identification of negative thought and behavior patterns, with proactive ways of decreasing undesired behaviors.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I utilize DBT in order to support in gaining skills that makes relationships with others and yourself more seamless, calm, and supported.

Psychoeducation

I utilize psychoeduation to provide insight as to why certain symptoms, behaviors, and patterns may exist. I often use psychoeducation to inform my clients, normalize their experience, and support that there is nothing wrong with them.

Psychoanalytic

I utilize psychoanalytic therapy in order to support diving deep into conscious and unconscious patterns. To support clients in creating deeper insight about themselves and how they relate to the world around them in ways previously unconscious to them.
