Hi! I'm a Licensed Mental Health Clinican in MA and Indiana. I received my Masters from Salem State University and have been working in the mental health field for over 12 years. I help adults struggling with anxiety and depression to become the best versions of themselves. I also specialize in relationship concerns, mood disorders (i.e. bipolar), LGBTQ, trauma, substance use, borderline personality disorder, and dealing with narcissism.
In our first session together, I'll do a biopsychosocial assessment to learn all about you. We'll dive into the specific challenges you're facing, and we'll create goals for therapy. This will help me create a plan for us as we move through follow-up sessions.
I have 12+ years of experience working with severe mental illness, people in crisis, and adults of all ages struggling with a variety of issues. Having experienced by own familial and relational trauma, I'm really able to connect with my clients on a deeper level. I'm also part of the LGBTQ community which increases my love for working with this population.
I love working with young adults who are navigating major life transitions (graduating college, starting a career, etc.). I love working with the LGBTQ community and non-traditional relationship structures (i.e. polyamory, open relationships, etc.). I have a lot of experience working with people who are in crisis or who have significant mental health histories. Overall, I enjoy working with people who are open to change and who come to therapy ready to do the work!
I’ve been using CBT with my clients for 12+ years. It’s helped a lot of clients challenge reoccurring thoughts and manage their anxiety. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors influence each other. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a less anxious and stressed life.
I've been using Strength-Based therapy techniques for quite some time now. It involves placing more of an emphasis on your strengths and survival skills than on your weaknesses. In therapy, you will retell your personal history of trauma, stressors, and pain with more of an emphasis on yourself as a survivor than as a victim.
I've been interested in the Positive Psychology approach since I was in high school. This type of therapy focuses on the positive aspects of human life, such as happiness, strengths, and fulfillments, rather than solely on pathology and mental illness.
I've been helping clients with relationship concerns for many years now. Interpersonal therapy focuses on interpersonal problems, not past experiences, and aims to improve communication, social support, and overall interpersonal functioning.
This type of therapy is often used with substance use, but it's affective for many other concerns. Motivational Interviewing's goal is to elicit and support a person's motivation for change. In therapy, you will be empowered to identify and vocalize your reasons for making positive changes in your life.
