New to Grow
I’m a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor with a passion for helping people feel seen, supported, and empowered. I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling with an emphasis in Trauma, Abuse, and Deprivation from Ottawa University, and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Arizona State University. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of working with children, members of the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals living with HIV, human trafficking survivors, and the neurodivergent community. My approach is integrative and tailored to each person’s needs, drawing from CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), LGBTQ-affirmative CBT, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), art therapy, play therapy, music therapy, and mindfulness practices. I’m deeply committed to making behavioral health care accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds. It means so much when clients tell me that our sessions are their safe space. I’m grateful to be able help bridge gaps for communities that have often been marginalized or hesitant to seek support. Outside of my work, I’m a wife and mom of two amazing kids. I love horror movies, eating potstickers and dumplings, and going to concerts whenever I can. Top concerts I've been to have to be My Chemical Romance, Ramon Ayala, Chappel Roan, and RBD (Rebelde).
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
In our first session, you can expect a welcoming space to share what feels important to you while we also take care of the necessary paperwork. This initial appointment is a bit more structured as we review consent forms, confidentiality, and other important policies. I’ll also go over your intake forms and ask follow-up questions to better understand your goals and needs. While this session may feel more formal, future sessions are much more client-led allowing you to set the pace and focus on what matters most to you.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I believe therapy should feel safe, supportive, and human. My greatest strength as a therapist is creating a space where you can show up as your authentic self whether that means laughing, crying, or simply being heard. I bring warmth, humor, and have been told I bring a little bit of “tia vibes” into my sessions. My goal is for you to want to come to therapy, knowing this is your space to grow, reflect, and heal. I will walk alongside you with compassion and care offering guidance every step of the way as we work together toward meaningful change.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
My ideal client is someone who values a therapist who is both direct, collaborative, and compassionate. I believe in honesty and transparency. You’ll always know where you stand with me. I lead with care and respect but strive not to sugarcoat as we work through difficult topics. If you’re willing to show up and do the work, I’ll meet you there with full commitment and support.
