LCSW, 1 years of experience
New to Grow
My name is Wendy Green, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in New York State. I work with infants and toddlers on the Autism Spectrum and teenagers and adults affected by anxiety, relationship challenges, and self-esteem issues. My approach to therapy varies based on the needs of each client with whom I work. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Solution- Focused Brief Therapy; these modalities help to build an understanding of the client’s reality and allow us to work together to help the client thrive.
In our first session together, my main goal is to get to know you and help you feel comfortable. The session is about building trust , gathering background information, and exploring what brought you to therapy--you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable.
My therapeutic approach is warm and as straightforward as possible, allowing you to feel emotionally safe and respected.
I focus on helping clients manage mental health challenges and regain a sense of empowerment in their lives.
I use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore your own motivations and find the reasons for change. Through trust, empathy, and collaboration, you are empowered to make informed decisions about your life.
In my practice, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will help you learn to identify and change your negative thoughts and behaviors. The use of deep breathing, journaling, and replacing negative thoughts with more balanced, realistic perspectives helps you to improve your emotional well-being and behavior.
With Solution Focused Brief Therapy, we help you discover, clarify and achieve your own solutions to your problems. It supports and motivates you to move forward in life, rather than remaining stuck on the issues you are currently facing. We will help you set clear, concise and realistic goals.
