About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who graduated from UNC-Charlotte with a master’s degree in social work. I have 10 years of practice experience. I have had the privilege to have worked with a diverse group of people in my career; including those having difficulty with life changes, health decline, life transition, depression, anxiety, bipolar, addiction, OCD, trauma, and psychotic disorders. I help people struggling with life change and mental health issues find their strengths and balance in their lives.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session you can expect a brief introduction. I take a holistic approach to learn about you, what strengths and supports you have as well as what challenges you face. We will use this to create a tailored treatment plan with goals for us to work through during follow up sessions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I feel my greatest strength as a provider is my ability to build report and to provide a space for you to work on your challenges in a non judgemental environment. I have practiced for 11 years and my greatest joy is to actively work towards getting my clients to where they feel they have meet their goals and no longer need me. I am adept as using evidence based practices and I am always growing and learning as a provider.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I love working with client's who are looking to make changes in their lives so they can be their best possible selves. My dream client may also be struggling with life transitions such as changes in family dynamics, new career, starting school, or dealing with loss. I enjoy empowering people and helping them to see their strengths while also building a toolkit of coping skills to carry with them throughout their lives.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

I have utilized person centered therapy for the past 10 years. I take the time to highlight a person’s strengths and assist them with recognizing the tools they have while also learning new ways to cope. I believe treatment should be tailored to the client and their needs.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have practiced CBT for the past 10 years to assist clients with understanding the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. I have used this form of evidence based therapy to assist clients with changing their thinking patterns and having insight into core beliefs that influence how they feel about themselves and the world around them.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been using DBT in my practice for the past 8 years. It has helped multiple clients to learn to regulate their emotions and cope with difficult situations in their lives. I have used this therapy to assist clients with navigating communication, socialization, and building healthy relationships.

Motivational Interviewing

I believe that all people are motivated to change and posses strengths that assist them with meeting their goals. I have used Motivational interviewing for the past 10 years to assist clients with finding their motivation for taking steps to ensure lasting change in their lives.
