Hola! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I am a bilingual therapist and a 1st-gen daughter of immigrants. I understand how isolating and overwhelming it can feel to begin your therapy journey and how important it is to have the right support. My own healing journey shapes my work and allows me to provide a warm, empathetic, and non-judgmental space for you.
In our first session, I will explain more in depth what to expect during our time together including my therapeutic style. Following introductions, we go more into specific challenges that brought you to seek support. We will also discuss your goals for therapy and together, we will develop a plan to work towards for future sessions.
I have a deep understanding and both professional and personal experience with anxiety, stress and trauma. I am able to recognize patterns, provide insight, offer practical tools and help clients feel validated throughout their experience. I approach every person, with warmth, patience and authenticity in their journey. My style is collaborative, non-judgmental and centered around you. That means moving at your pace during the session, whether you need to vent about the daily chaos or want to take a deep dive into your past, I can navigate that with you in a gentle and supportive way.
If you are navigating the challenges of trauma, stress, anxiety or depression, I understand how overwhelming and isolating it can feel. My work is dedicated to helping individuals find clarity, healing and empowerment as you move through these experiences. I enjoy supporting people who want to take the next step in their life, but feel stuck, unsure and overwhelmed with how to do so. With a warm, empathetic and non judgmental approach, I support individuals towards their journey of breaking these cycles.

I use CBT to help the client recognize automatic thought patterns and how it contributes to their overall well-being. Together we can identify thought patterns that do not serve the client and develop a more constructive and balanced perspective.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
I use mindfulness to assist clients in observing and accepting uncomfortable emotions and feelings rather than avoiding them. Using non-judgment and acceptance we cultivate present moment awareness to assist in building a deeper connection to the present.
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma informed care approaches understanding to create a safe and welcoming environment when working with individuals who have experienced a significant stress and trauma. I use a nonjudgmental and calming approach to the clients' experience and support their own empowerment and journey.

Today was my first ever therapy session, and I came in feeling really scared and nervous. From the moment I met Monica, she made me feel comfortable and at ease. She was kind, attentive, and created a safe space where I felt genuinely heard and understood. I didn’t feel rushed or judged at any point, and that meant a lot to me. By the end of the session, I felt more relaxed than I ever expected to feel. Highly recommend Monica to anyone starting therapy or looking for a compassionate therapist.
