Hello and welcome! My name is Simone and I am excited to start working with you. Before our first session, I want you to know that my goal is to make you feel heard, and show you that therapy can be a very relaxing, judgement free zone where you can be unapologetically you. Building a trusting and safe relationship is important to me as I am a non-judgmental, and honest person who truly does have a passion for working with people. It is my belief that YOU are the expert of your own story, and I am only here as a support character to help you accept or tweak what is no longer serving you on your life journey, or aid in supporting you to no longer second guess your gut instincts.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will go over your intake paperwork, what brought you to counseling, and we will get to know each other. I usually tell clients that when you meet a counselor you should at least have two-three sessions with them to see if you "vibe." If you're not feeling the therapeutic relationship by the end of the third session there are no hard feelings if you feel that counselor is not for you! Always go with your gut instincts

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a provider is that I am non-judgmental, truly care about helping people ease their troubles, and I am flexible.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use this kind of therapy to help people learn to accept unpleasant thoughts, emotions, or experiences without viewing them as problems. Instead, the goal is to define your own personal values and identify ways you can take action that you believe in, even without changing the negative parts of your experience. Language is very important in ACT as well. It theorizes that changing the way you describe a problem can actually change your experience of it as well.

Mind-body approach

I will use a mind-body approach, to help foster healing and wellness that focuses on the relationship between the mind and body. Based on the idea that thoughts and feelings can affect physiology and physical health, this approach can include physical and psychological training, such as exercise programs, and alternative systems of medicine and healing practices.

Trauma Informed Care

Above all I am a a trauma-informed therapist who understands the importance being a caring and understanding person to gain a complete picture of a client's life situation — past and present — in order to provide effective health care services with a healing orientation.

Sex Therapy

Sex therapy is a specific branch of psychotherapy devoted to supporting well-being around sex and sexual satisfaction. Contrary to common misunderstanding, sex therapy does not involve contact with or in front of a sex therapist. Sex therapy is simply a specialized way of treating sexual dysfunction and/or intimacy concerns from a psychological perspective, including addressing any mental health conditions that may relate to or arise from these concerns. I also use my knowledge to help those in BDSM, KINK, ENM, or polyamorous relationships by way of education or counseling surrounding common issues individuals or couples may face when in the lifestyle.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is based on the understanding that our emotional experiences are directly related to our thoughts, beliefs, and actions – and therefore, it is possible to change our emotional experiences by examining and altering our thoughts and behaviors. I use CBT to help my clients change things they do not wish to accept in their lives when all other tactics have not worked. Counseling should be tailored to the individual need
