(she/her)
Hello! My name is Nicole McDuff and I am a Licensed Professional Counsellor (LPC) based in Pennsylvania. I received my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Gannon University and have been working in the mental health field for a decade. I have experience working with a wide variety of individuals ranging in age, diagnoses, and level of care.
I know that starting therapy can sometimes be intimidating at first, so I like to share what you can expect. In our first session, we will start with introductions, then move into discussing what brings you to therapy. We may explore past experiences and factors contributing to your current situation. Together we will identify goals for us to work towards in our following sessions and come up with a plan for achieving those goals.
Since every person is unique, I like to utilize pieces from various approaches to form a method that fits your individual needs. I love helping you to recognize and utilize your strengths and those things that make you special. I like to help you to make sense of and better understand yourself and your experiences.
I believe that every person is unique and love working with people of all kinds. I especially enjoy working with individuals looking for guidance with depression, anxiety, stress, family and/or relationship challenges, trauma, self-esteem, life changes, ADHD, and grief/loss.
I utilize CBT to explore and make changes in thinking patterns and behaviors to improve the emotional state.
I utilize many person-centered methods to help those I work with feel comfortable and heard.
