LMFT, 19 years of experience
Hello. I am here with 19 years of experience balanced with cultural competence and sensitivity to varied backgrounds, including socioeconomic status, ethnicity, religious beliefs, sexual orientation, and gender identity. As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, my training is rooted in psychotherapy and family systems theory. My approach is with an emphasis on valuing and utilizing the client's own expertise and understanding of their life circumstances, prioritizing individualized care, and recognizing that no single therapeutic modality fits every client or challenge.
For the first time we meet...introductions and lots of questions, with good reason, I want to get a foundational idea about why you are here, seeking support, this support. I chose to call it "support", instead of therapy, because it's support for whatever it is you are trying to figure out. This first session will also allow for us to see if we connect, if we are a good match, if you feel comfortable, safe. If so, then, we can also decide on frequency for our time together and generate a broad idea of what the focus of this dedicated time will be.
I view you as the expert of your life; you bring your challenges as well as your accomplishments, the people you lean on when needing support and those who celebrate you and with you, along with the beliefs and values unique to you, your people. I enter this therapeutic relationship humbled to be invited on this journey alongside you and to create space for you to tell your story as a way of learning and healing.
All clients are ideal...anyone seeking support, wanting support and acknowledging they need support is an ideal client.
My approach is prioritizing individualized care, recognizing that no single therapeutic modality fits every client or every challenge. This approach offers clients a limitless and assorted toolkit of strategies, techniques and theories that allow for facilitating invitation to growth and possibilities.
