New to Grow
As a licensed therapist in Ohio with two decades of experience, I specialize in supporting individuals through life's complex challenges. I hold licenses in New York, Minnesota, and Utah as well. My practice centers on helping clients navigate emotional difficulties, including depression, anxiety, stress, and significant life transitions. I offer compassionate guidance for those struggling with self-love, communication difficulties, isolation, and personal growth. My approach is deeply empathetic and tailored to each individual's unique journey. I have extensive experience supporting women, young adults, and older clients through diverse challenges such as workplace stress, chronic health conditions, family conflicts, and personal transformation. Whether you're dealing with grief, seeking purpose, or working through interpersonal dynamics, I provide a supportive and understanding therapeutic environment. I am committed to helping clients develop resilience, cultivate self-compassion, and discover meaningful strategies for emotional healing. My goal is to walk alongside you, offering professional insights and genuine support as you navigate your personal growth and wellness journey.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I like to reserve the first session as a "get to know each other" session. I like to take the time to thoroughly get to know you and your concerns before charging full speed ahead.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
My clients come to me for compassion, experience, and to be honest, a bit of comic relief from time to time. I am extremely laid back and open minded. I am very rarely offended by anything, enjoy using humor, and NOTHING is off limits in therapy. I see that my role as your counselor is to help you see all the possibilities so you can make the best decisions for yourself and your family.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I don't have an "ideal client" per se. Because I am so open-minded and, honestly, have no filter myself, I enjoy working with all kinds of people. I see that my role as your counselor is to help you see all the possibilities so you can make the best decisions for yourself and your family. If you are looking for structure and formalities, I am probably not your perfect fit for a therapist.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
With CBT and also DBT, we will focus on the link between thoughts, feelings, and actions to learn practical skills to manage our concerns.
Christian Counseling
I do not mandate or self-impose Christian based counseling onto my clients. I only use Christian based counseling if my clients ask or prefer this.
Couples Counseling
I am always willing to work with individuals and couples, wherever the needs arise. Couples often find communication a central concern in their relationship. A "team mentality" can also be helpful when issues arise in relationships as well.
Strength-Based
We all possess strengths, whether we can see them or not. Together, we can identify those strengths and focus on using those strengths to improve other areas that cause us concern.
Grief Therapy
In my long history of work with hospice, I have extensive experience with grief processing and counseling.
