LMHC, 11 years of experience
Welcome to a nurturing space where healing begins. I bring extensive experience working with diverse populations facing a wide range of challenges in today’s culture. My approach to treating addiction and co-occurring mental health is grounded in empathy and grace, offering compassionate support to clients as you manage depression, anxiety, relationship issues, family conflict, parenting challenges, childhood trauma, life transitions, career difficulties, and grief/loss. I utilize evidence-based treatments, incorporating knowledge of the 12-step approach addiction education, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Recovery support.
During our initial session, we will begin with brief introductions, followed by obtaining any necessary consents and releases of information, and establishing limits to confidentiality. Subsequently, we will delve into the specific challenges you are facing. This process aims to facilitate the development of a personalized treatment plan and fostering targeted progress in subsequent sessions.
I approach every session with compassion, patience, and genuine care, focusing on creating a safe and supportive space for healing. I utilize a patient-centered approach to therapy, and use evidence-based practices and mindfulness, to help clients navigate challenges related to depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss and addiction. My goal is to empower each person to build resilience, find balance, and achieve lasting change through a collaborative and supportive therapeutic process.
I specialize in helping adults navigate challenges related to substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health conditions. My experience includes supporting individuals facing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, bipolar disorder, and other emotional or behavioral concerns. Many of my clients are seeking to regain balance, strengthen coping skills, and create lasting change in their lives. I take a compassionate, person-centered approach—tailoring each session to your unique goals and needs. Together, we’ll work toward healing, resilience, and a renewed sense of self and well-being.
I use a compassionate, patient-centered approach to therapy, drawing on nearly 10 years of experience supporting adults with substance use disorders, co-occurring mental health conditions, and past traumas. I specialize in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which is highly effective in addressing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress (PTS/PTSD), ADHD, phobias, OCD, bipolar disorder, and substance use disorders. Through CBT, we will work together to explore and challenge unhelpful thoughts, beliefs, emotions, and behaviors, while developing practical coping strategies tailored to your unique environment and life circumstances. CBT can be used on its own to address specific issues or combined with other therapeutic approaches to gain a broader perspective, foster resilience, and reduce the negative impact of challenges on your life. My goal is to provide a supportive, non-judgmental space where you can reconnect with your intrinsic sense of self. Together, we will focus on self-acceptance, self-compassion, and self-empowerment while creating individualized goals that promote healing, growth, and long-term well-being.
Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative approach to therapy where you and I work together as partners. The goal is to help you explore your thoughts, feelings, and goals while increasing your motivation to make meaningful changes in your life. Rather than telling you what to do, I guide you in identifying your own reasons for change, supporting you in building confidence and taking steps that feel right for you. This approach is especially helpful if you’re feeling uncertain or stuck about making changes, whether it’s related to substance use, mental health, or other life challenges. MI is designed to meet you where you are, help you discover your own strengths, and empower you to take action toward positive and lasting change.
Patients often seek to make meaning of their lives. As your therapist, I will use a series of questions to get to understand your perspective of your life. In order to find the areas of strengths, available resources to identify and fulfill your desires, we will focus on identifying the solution to your problem, identifying what works and you can use available solutions to satisfy other possible issues. One of the techniques is to ask you the "Miracle question." If you woke up tomorrow and your problem was solved, how would you know? What would have changed for you? It's my job to help you expose the solution.
Many of my patients seeking treatment for their addiction, express experiencing issues with past trauma, grief or loss, family dysfunction, educational and employment challenges in addition to a variety of untreated medical conditions. It is then necessary to complete a comprehensive biopsychosocial assessment so that mental health and addiction symptoms can be accurately identified, diagnosed and treated. This is the foundation of developing an effective individualized treatment plan.
