New to Grow
As a licensed therapist, I specialize in supporting individuals through life's complex transitions and emotional challenges. My professional background focuses on addressing depression, anxiety, trauma, stress management, and addiction recovery. I bring a compassionate, culturally informed approach to helping people navigate personal healing, particularly during significant life events including trauma, bereavement, pregnancy, and parenting. My practice centers on creating a supportive, understanding environment where clients can explore feelings of guilt and shame, develop healthy coping strategies, and build emotional resilience. Drawing from evidence-based practices, and my deeply spiritual background, I work collaboratively with clients to develop personalized strategies that honor their unique experiences and strengths. I am committed to walking alongside my clients with empathy, respect, and genuine care, helping them build resilience and discover their inner-strength.
During our first session I will take time to get to know you and gain an understanding behind the brave decision that allowed you reach out for help. Together, we will complete an assessment through information gathering. This will help create our roadmap for how to best get to work on your healing process
I'm a down to earth, nurturing, compassionate and caring problem-solver! My goal is to partner with you to reach your destination of growth, healing, and desired well-being. I believe that true healing happens when my clients feel seen, supported, and empowered to lead their own journey.
An individual who is struggling with deep-seated, life-controlling issues that they recognize may have a spiritual component. They struggle with specific negative thinking patterns, self-condemnation, or feelings of unworthiness that fuel their symptoms or prevent them from fully embracing their faith. They want a practical, skills-based approach to change their thinking. They may be dealing with a well-defined, behavior-driven problem and are perhaps currently ambivalent about taking the steps but are ready and willing to adopt practical cognitive and behavioral skills once their motivation is solidified.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a cornerstone of my counseling approach, primarily utilized to help clients identify and challenge maladaptive thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to their distress. By exploring the interconnectedness of their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, we work collaboratively to develop and practice more realistic and helpful cognitive and behavioral responses, leading to tangible and lasting positive changes in their lives.
I am able to recognize the widespread impact of trauma, and prioritize emotional safety. I aim to empower clients to find their voice and empower them to build on their strengths to find healing. The client sets the pace for our collaboration in goal setting and navigating the effects of their experiences.
I often use Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). A goal-directed, collaborative, and brief approach to psychotherapy that radically shifts the focus away from a client's problems and toward building solutions for their preferred future.
I integrate Christian counseling into my sessions by grounding our work in biblical principles and a Christian worldview, acknowledging the client's faith as a central resource for growth and healing. This often involves incorporating prayer, Scripture, and discussions of spiritual disciplines alongside evidence-based psychological techniques to address emotional and relational issues from a holistic perspective that honors their spiritual journey.
