Hello and welcome to therapy! I want to applaud you for committing to yourself and your journey of healing. Choosing the right therapist for your needs can be scary and overwhelming. I look forward to meeting with you as an opportunity for your growth as you face life transitions. I have been licensed in California as a Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for 25 years and practicing the healing arts for over 30 years. I received my Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology in 1993 from California State University Northridge. I have worked as a therapist in the public sector for 28 years, serving adolescents and adults struggling with moderate to severe mental illness and substance use disorders, providing assessments, diagnoses and short term individual and group therapy. My therapeutic approach is client-centered and humanistic, with a primary focus on facilitating empowerment, self-actualization, healing, and growth.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is about building a therapeutic relationship and determining if you feel comfortable with your therapist. In our first session together, we will start with brief introductions and will discuss your current concerns, your history and your goals for therapy. You will leave the session with a better understanding of what you are facing with a solutions based approach. I welcome you to come prepared with questions for me and to think about your goals and expectations for therapy.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

With 30 years of experience as a therapist, I have mastered the skills to collaborate with you to identify your challenges, goals, dreams and hopes for the future. Together, we will focus on your strengths, building upon your existing resources, and envision a future where your problems are resolved.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am here to create a safe, non judgmental, welcoming space for you to heal and grow where I draw from evidence-based techniques and tailor them to your unique needs. Humor plays an essential role in the therapeutic process and healing. I believe strongly in the power of movement and welcome you to walk and talk during our sessions if you feel safe and comfortable with this approach. Together, we’ll develop strategies to manage stress and wellness, improve communication, manage emotions, and build resilience.

What stands out about her therapy style is that she is both authentic and intelligent. She truly listened to me and my concerns without judgment, and responded in a way that made me feel understood and supported. By the end of our first session, I felt confident that she had not only heard me, but also had the insight and skill to help me grow.
