About me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a Master of Social Work from Georgia State University. I work with children navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, and emotional dysregulation, with a special focus on helping parents feel more grounded, empowered, and connected in their role. My background in providing mental health support in schools gives me a firsthand understanding of the academic, social, and emotional pressures children face—and the ripple effects these challenges can have on the whole family. I take a child-centered and person-centered approach, meeting each client where they are and tailoring sessions to their needs. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), expressive arts, and play-based interventions, with specialized training in Play Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and CBT. My goal is to make therapy both meaningful and engaging—so children feel seen and valued, and adults feel more connected to themselves and their parenting.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I’ll spend time meeting with both you and your child separately. During our conversation, you’ll have the chance to share more about your family’s current challenges and what you hope your child will gain from therapy. When I meet with your child, we’ll start building comfort and trust through an activity they enjoy—this might be drawing, playing a game, or simply talking together. My goal is to create a calm, judgment-free space where both you and your child feel understood and supported.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I balance warmth, playfulness, and practicality in each session. My background providing mental health support in school settings gives me a deep understanding of the academic, social, and emotional challenges children face every day. I draw from evidence-based methods—including CBT, DBT, IFS, expressive arts, and play-based strategies—tailored to each child or parent’s unique needs. My goal is to make therapy both engaging and meaningful, where children feel seen and supported and parents feel empowered with insight and tools they can use at home. Families often describe me as a steady, encouraging presence who helps them navigate challenges with greater connection, confidence, and calm.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help kids understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and actions. Because I work primarily with children, I make CBT hands-on and fun—using visuals, board games, and creative activities to help kids practice new ways of thinking and responding. My goal is to help children build awareness and confidence as they learn practical coping skills they can use at home and school.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT offers powerful tools for emotional regulation, mindfulness, and problem-solving. In my work with kids, I adapt DBT concepts in playful and engaging ways—using stories, crafts, and interactive visuals to make skills like “wise mind” and “self-soothing” come to life. I focus on helping children understand their emotions and build resilience while supporting parents in reinforcing these skills at home.

Play Therapy

Play is a child’s natural language, and I use Play Therapy to help kids express themselves and process big feelings in a way that feels safe and familiar. Through art, storytelling, and games, children can explore their experiences, practice new skills, and build trust. I use play not only as a means of expression but also as a way to teach coping, problem-solving, and communication in developmentally appropriate ways.

Attachment-based

I draw from attachment-based approaches to strengthen the connection between children and their caregivers. I help parents understand their child’s emotional needs and respond in ways that build trust and security. In sessions, I often use play, storytelling, and visual tools to help kids express their feelings and experiences within the safety of a supportive relationship. My goal is to help families repair and deepen connection so that children feel seen, safe, and understood.

Eclectic

I take an eclectic, strengths-based approach because there’s no one-size-fits-all in therapy—especially when working with kids. Every child brings their own personality, interests, and ways of learning, so I draw from a range of approaches to meet them where they are.
