Hi! I'm a dually Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist (LCAS) working in the Raleigh NC area. I received my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) from the North Carolina State University and have been practicing for 7 years. I love what I do, I left a successful career when I was in my mid 40's to go to college so I could become a social worker. I became a LCSW because I lost a partner when I was in my early 30's and a LCSW helped me navigate a new beginning and changed my life forever.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. We will also cover the way a session will work and your expectations of me and vice versa. With that information I will create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having worked with a wide variety of people, I have developed a very different approach to therapy. I remember seeing my first therapists and being intimidated by him and swore that I would never be that way if I was ever in his position and I've stuck to that. I prefer to run a session as if we are just old friends having a conversation, while these will feel like conversations with a friend you will notice that sprinkled throughout will be ideas on dealing with your issues and tools to help you navigate the issues. My clients have been very receptive to this way of therapy and many tell me how much more comfortable they feel in a session that with previous therapists.
