Hi! My name is Chelsey and I'm happy you're here. I enjoy working with adult clients with a variety of mental health concerns. I believe that challenges and stress can transform into opportunities that lead to meaningful life changes. Reaching out for support is a sign of deep inner strength. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, depression, are a survivor of trauma, or are navigating life transitions, I offer a calm and warm presence to help you make sense of things, find hope, and find solutions that work for you. I use creativity and my sense of humor to build strong, trusting relationships with clients. I utilize strategies from several therapy methods and believe that a solid client-therapist relationship is the true foundation for doing this work. I am driven by the belief that everyone deserves a compassionate and understanding space to heal and grow. Personal experiences and professional encounters have deepened my commitment to this work. If it feels like we’d be a good fit, feel free to call, text, or email me. I look forward to meeting you!
During our initial sessions, we will dive into the issues at hand and work together to create a plan for addressing them in a way that helps you get your life back. Most of my clients see a gradual lifting of symptoms and a reduction in stress within the first month of working together. Many clients like specific tasks and strategies they can work on outside of sessions.
I utilize an integrated approach in my work, not relying exclusively on one method. What works for one client may not work for you. I enjoy tailoring my therapy style to each person's individual needs and preferences. I approach my people work with warmth, empathy, honest feedback, and a genuine curiosity to learn about you and your lived experiences. I tend to use a lot of humor with my clients. I have an easy manner and enjoy building relationships with people. Some of my clients have shared that they were about to give up on therapy before they met me.
I work with clients who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions as well as a variety of other mental health conditions. I enjoy working with both adolescents and adults.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a talk therapy method that helps people manage mental conditions such as depression and anxiety by identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. In addition to challenging irrational thoughts and unhelpful behaviors, CBT also teaches practical strategies to manage stress and responses.
As a clinician who practices trauma-informed care, I understand and acknowledge the prevalence of trauma, recognizing its signs and symptoms. Trauma-informed care shifts the focus from "What's wrong with you?" to "What happened to you?" We will identify and focus on strengths and resilience rather than solely on trauma.
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) aims to increase psychological flexibility by helping people accept difficult thoughts and feelings while committing to actions that align with their values. We will use strategies to become less caught up in our thoughts and feelings and make healthy choices even when faced with difficult feelings and thoughts,
