Sometimes we find it hard to ask for help when we are struggling. For you to read this profile you have just given yourself the permission to receive the healing compassion that you so deserve and I applaud you for taking that first step. As a therapist for the past 16 years, I have made it my mission to be there for people like yourself that struggle with a multitude of stressors, including anxiety, post traumatic stress, social anxiety, struggles with communication, phobias/fears and overthinking patterns to name a few. I specialize in trauma specifically with a certification in clinical trauma (CCTP). Clients who have experienced any level of trauma, can feel confident in working with me that we will process through the trauma itself and also learn how to cope with the everyday triggers and grieving process. I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for both trauma related issues and for anxiety related issues. I also incorporate eclectic approaches to my treatment since every client needs something different when it comes to navigating how to cope with their struggles. I am empathetic and an attentive listener that will be your support for whatever your journey may be. My warm caring personality matched with some humor will help us to build a solid therapeutic foundation.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session, my mission is to get to know you and you get to know me. I will explore your psychosocial history and understand how my skill set can be best of service to you. It is important for you to feel comfortable with me and ask questions or concerns that you have. I want this to be comfortable for you that you are wanting to come back and explore some more.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am a warm, personable and compassionate therapist. I use my humor when appropriate and build a solid therapeutic relationship with my clients. There is no pressure on your part as the client, let me guide you through our sessions depending on your needs for that session. I am attentive, engaging and supportive. You will have positive results in your therapeutic goals as long as you are willing, open and invested in your journey.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am looking for a client who has the willingness to explore themselves and be curious about their patterns that they can reflect back to me. If they have accountability, consistency with attendance and engagement and are willing to participate in challenging themselves through coping skills. goals and homework, then we will work well together. It is important most of all to build a trusting therapeutic relationship and if the client is open to this process, then therapy will be successful for them.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is structured, collaborative, and skills-based. I assess the Clients triggers, automatic beliefs, behavioral patterns and current coping skills and utilize what I like to call challenges (instead of homework) to the client through thought records, changing thought patterns and implement small goals in order for the client to manage their symptoms. I have used CBT since my Master program and it works the best with clients who deal with anxiety, social issues, PTSD, etc.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Through Trauma focused CBT, we will explore trauma timelines, establish coping skills for triggers of trauma, process thoughts and feelings, and build a safe and supportive network. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and have worked with clients with all types of Trauma over my career. I will help you to be able to work through your past and present trauma so that you can live life with less symptoms and fear.

Eclectic

I feel that as a client you are going to need different things to help you through your struggles, so I find that utilizing a mixture of types of therapy is beneficial. I tell my clients from day one, if you need to have a session to vent, then I will be there to listen, if you need psychoeducation, then I will use my knowledge and resources to help guide you.
