About me

Hi there! I’m so glad you’re here. Seeking therapy is a courageous step toward self-awareness and growth. While growth can sometimes feel uncomfortable, it often opens the door to healing, clarity, and meaningful change. I believe we all have the capacity for change and to live more balanced and fulfilling lives when we’re given space to be seen, supported, and understood. With over twenty years of experience, my approach combines practical tools with compassion and collaboration. I often draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), two approaches that help build self-awareness, confidence, and motivation for change. I view therapy as a partnership—together, we’ll work collaboratively to explore patterns that are no longer serving you, strengthen your inner resilience, and create strategies that foster lasting change while aligning with your values and goals. In addition to supporting adults, I have extensive experience and a distinct passion for supporting teens and young adults, as they navigate the complexities of growth, independence, and self-discovery. I am deeply committed to creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, empowered, and supported on your journey to wellness...whatever that means for you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

You've taken the first step—come as you are. After reviewing consents, we’ll spend much of our first session with me listening closely to understand what brings you in, why now and what you hope to achieve. In order to support you on your journey I must first understand your goals; and from there, we’ll explore creating a path forward that feels supportive, empowering, and uniquely yours.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

You are the expert and author of your own story, and it is my privilege to support you on your journey. I believe that authenticity is essential in creating the psychological safety necessary for individuals to engage in the discomfort that meaningful growth requires. My calm and sincere presence helps cultivate a space where you feel empowered to express your true self without fear of judgment.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you find yourself feeling uncertain yet ready to gain clarity and establish meaningful goals, I invite you to explore this process collaboratively. I believe in each individual’s inherent capacity for growth and change, fostered through increased self-awareness, connection, and self-compassion. My approach emphasizes active engagement in your personal goals; by participating intentionally in this work, you lay the groundwork for genuine progress and sustainable change.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been an integral part of my therapeutic approach for more than twenty years. I find CBT to be a practical and evidence-based framework that fosters self-awareness, intentionality, and self-regulation. It offers clients concrete tools to understand the connection between thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT has consistently demonstrated effectiveness in supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds in addressing a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, substance use, and complex relationship or family dynamics.

Motivational Interviewing

With over twenty years of training and direct experience working with individuals that struggle with substances, Motivational Interviewing (MI) has been an effective intervention to support individuals on their journey to what recovery means for them. I support without judgement and shame; I invite individuals to search for and identify their goals and discover attainable ways to achieve them. While MI is often associated with substance use treatment, it is also highly effective in supporting broader behavior changes—such as improving health habits, enhancing motivation for personal growth, or addressing patterns that may interfere with relationships or emotional well-being. I value this approach because it honors each person’s autonomy and capacity for change, meeting clients where they are while fostering confidence and readiness to move forward.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

Mindfulness-based therapy is less about "fixing" what feels broken and more about gaining self-awareness of oneself—to a place of calm awareness that’s always been there, beneath the noise of everyday life. At its heart, mindfulness invites you to pause, breathe, and truly notice what’s happening in the present moment—your thoughts, your emotions, the sensations in your body—without trying to push anything away or hold anything too tightly. It’s about learning to meet your experience with kindness, even when it’s difficult.
