New to Grow
With over six years of experience in the mental health field, I am passionate about supporting youth and young adults as they navigate life’s challenges. I have worked extensively with at-risk youth and adolescents in foster care, helping them process trauma, build stability, and strengthen their sense of identity and self-worth. My goal is to create a supportive, culturally sensitive space where you feel heard, validated, and empowered. Together, we work to build insight, develop effective coping skills, and foster lasting emotional growth.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin building a safe, supportive foundation for our work together. We will spend time discussing what brings you to therapy, the challenges you’re currently facing, and what you hope to gain from our work. I may ask questions about your personal history, family background, relationships, and any past experiences with counseling. This helps me better understand your story and the context of your concerns. You are always free to share at your own pace. Most importantly, the first session is about creating a space where you feel heard, respected, and understood. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we will work together to create a plan that feels supportive and aligned with your needs.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to build trust with clients who may initially feel guarded or hesitant. I have developed a strong capacity for creating safety, consistency, and emotional attunement in the therapeutic relationship. Additionally, I am patient, resilient, and adaptable—qualities that are essential when working with complex trauma, behavioral challenges, and transitional life stages.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I also specialize in working with young adults experiencing cultural and generational stressors — including family expectations, identity exploration, and the pressure to balance multiple cultural values. I understand how these experiences can shape anxiety, self-doubt, and relationship challenges.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My work focuses on helping clients identify and challenge maladaptive thought patterns, reduce avoidance behaviors, and develop practical coping strategies. My approach is structured, collaborative and goal-oriented, empowering clients to build long-term resilience and emotional regulation.
