I am a licensed professional counselor and board certified dance/movement therapist. I strive to create an open and safe space for clients to be their authentic self and find it important to see a client's physical, emotional, and developmental world through their lens. We will work together to explore and express emotions, develop and expand communication skills and relationships, and find ways to continue overall growth within the therapeutic relationship. I focus on solution-focused and cognitive-behavioral therapy approaches, but employ additional options as needed, depending on each client's personal journey towards healing.
I strive to create a safe space for clients to be their authentic self and find ways to continue their growth within the therapeutic relationship, which starts in the first session. Building rapport, getting to know each other and engaging in conversation about different aspects of the therapeutic process can be expected in our first session together.
My strengths include meeting clients where they are at physically, emotionally and developmentally and allowing the client to be a leader within the therapeutic space.
Clients who are over the age of 18 would be best for this particular practice. In-person appointments are available on Mondays and Tuesdays only. All other visits will be virtual.

Sonya has helped me navigate so many life challenges and successes. She communicates in a very warm/welcoming/friendly manner. She’s very open minded and also coaches in an empowering way.
