New to Grow
I believe everyone has the innate ability to change, grow, and heal. I meet clients where they are and create a safe, nonjudgmental therapeutic environment. I see clients as the leaders on their journey and I support their goals. I am a licensed clinical social worker, mother, wife, sister, friend, and animal lover. I have always been drawn to helping people and I enjoy helping people grow and progress.
During our first session together, I focus on creating trust and rapport with a new client. The first session is usually an intake session where I gather historical information and ask a client why they have chosen to seek therapy. Together, we co-create a treatment plan and develop the therapeutic goals that the client would like to work on.
What makes me unique is the depth of my empathy and ability to listen actively and treat the client with compassion and respect. I use a multitude of therapeutic approaches depending on what a client needs and wants. I do not have a "one size fits all" approach to therapy as each client has different strengths and areas of challenge.
I am interested in working with adults who are seeking positive change and need a guide. I am deeply empathic, patient, and kind. I can assist clients in developing coping strategies and challenge long-held negative beliefs about themselves, which cause anxiety, depression, and difficulty trusting others. I am open to working with clients who have experienced deep trauma and who function well but have never truly healed. Therapy can set you free and help clients discover their genuine selves. My hope is that treatment with me over time empowers my clients to be more of who they already are and resolve thinking and behavioral patterns that get in the way of being truly happy.
My practice uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy by helping clients identify thinking patterns that cause distress, anxiety, and depression as well as identifying the negative core beliefs that fuel it.
I use DBT to help clients identify and change behavioral patterns that cause them distress and impair their ability to function.
I use IFS therapy to help clients identify defensive structures that keep them from progressing in their life and keep them stuck in thinking and behavioral patterns that no longer work for them.
I use attachment-based treatment theory to help clients identify insecure and avoidant patterns of attachment that cause pain and distress in relationships.
I use the mind-body approach to help clients identify the sensations of safety and fear in their bodies and help them process trauma and develop strategies to cope with triggers and learn to soothe their nervous systems and return to homeostasis.
