I am an LCSW and Army veteran. As a combat veteran, I found it hard to integrate back into civilian life, so that is what drew me to becoming a therapist. Helping others help themselves has always been my passion. My drive comes from those who have helped me and have given me the energy and passion to help others.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is where we begin to build our therapeutic relationship. In this session, my goal is to understand the client's life challenges and understand their expectations and goals for treatment. I am hoping that each client leaves this session feeling comfortable and confident about what is yet to come.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I use strength-based and solution-based approaches to assist clients with gaining awareness of their experiences, along with helping and guiding clients to find fitting outcomes and coping mechanisms. The modalities that I utilize during sessions are CBT, ACT, and DBT.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My area of expertise is working with individuals who are dealing with depression, PTSD, stress, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, and coping with new diagnoses.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I assist my clients with understanding negative patterns and working with them to shift their thoughts into a positive light, and then continuing the work to make it a habit.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

As an African American female veteran, I can connect culturally with different backgrounds and cultures, which is monumental in therapy and working through traumas.

Grief Therapy

I use grief therapy to assist clients with processing, understanding, and working through the stages of grief.

Motivational Interviewing

I use motivational interviewing to help the client draw their own conclusions.

Trauma Informed Care

I learn about and understand my clients' past traumas, and I use that knowledge to inform their case in sessions, focusing on safety, trust, and empowerment.
