About me

Congratulations on taking this first step forward in your growth journey. I take a wholistic aproach to therapy, and believe that you hold the key to your own healing. I am passionate about working with people of all ages and backgrounds to find a way forward through difficult situations. My promise to provide a nonjudgmental space for you to become empowered and experience hope. I have 17 years of experience supporting children, teens, adults, and the aging population. My background includes work in educational, residential, and outpatient settings. You don't have to stay "stuck", and you don't have to do it alone!

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, the focus will be on getting to know each other. Good counseling happens in a trusted and safe environment. We will begin to form a therapeutic relationship in which you feel safe to do the hard work that will bring you peace and help you meet your goals.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I use a mix of therapy approaches, tailored to what works best for you. When you feel “stuck,” we’ll work through it as a team. Together, we’ll find ways to help you reach your goals, feel more confident, and trust in your ability to create the changes you want.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am clinically trained to help individuals heal attachment wounds and trauma throug the use of EMDR and TF-CBT. As a former educator and health care provider, I can empathetically validate the burnout and compassion fatigue that many helping professionals experience. I enjoy working with couples who are at all stages of their relationship journey, including the use of Prepare and Enrich for premarital counseling, and discernment techniques for couples who are ambivalent about the future of their marriage. I have extensive experience supporting individuals with autism and developmental delays, and enjoy supporting parents and children to enhance their relationships with PCIT and PC-CARE.

Attachment-based

I have extensive experience assisting people to examine historical attachment wounds that interfere with their current ability to connect and attach to others.

EMDR

I am certified in EMDR therapy. This form of therapy allows your brain to process and neutralize traumatic events, to provide peace and healing from trauma and hurts that may be resistant to traditional talk-therapy methods.

Parent-Child Interaction (PCIT)

I am trained in PCIT therapy. This unique therapy allows parents to receive live coaching and support as they engage in play in order to deepen their relationship with their child. PCIT improves communication, and reduces stress caused by behavioral concerns.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I am a certified TF-CBT provider and a member of the Treatment Collaborative for Traumatized Youth (TCTY) in the state of North Dakota. This 8-12 session modality includes extensive parental involvement, so that parents can support their child's healing beyond the therapy session.

Couples Counseling

I am a certified Prepare and Encrich facilitator. I specialize in couples counseling, and have a particular interest in serving couples who are currently ambivalent about whether to stay together or separate, and looking for clarity.
