I have been in practice several years taking some time off to raise a family. I work with individuals,couples and families. I am skilled in several modalities of treatment . I work with a wide range of ages from young adults to aging individuals.I am skilled at working with people from all sexual orientations. My areas of expertise are anxiety,depression, adult children from addicted households and fertility issues. I am very interested in working with those individuals who have been raised in some type of dysfunctional familiy system. Often those earlier experiences very much impact our choice of partners and the ways in which we conduct our lives as adults. I attempt to form an alliance with everyone in the room to create a space that will allow to make everyone comfortable to share information and feelings. I look forward to meeting with you to help you in your journey of leading a happier life.
First session
During the first few sessions I obtain a lot of psychosocial information. This helps me gain a better understanding of where you fit into your life. Goal setting follows which is examined periodically. The ultimate goal is to discover ways to cope with the many issues that may prove as obstacles for you. Learning new ways to problem solve and relieve stress and anxiety are highlighted in the sessions.
Strengths
I feel that my use of self is one of my biggest assets. I am your partner on this journey and present myself as a human who has experienced issues and problems and who truly understands what is like to be on the other side of the desk. I have a good sense of humor and try not to take myself so seriously as a professional that I miss the essence of what you are trying to convey
