In our first session, you can anticipate a warm, welcoming, supportive and collaborative environment. Our main goal is to establish a solid foundation of trust and rapport. We’ll begin by getting to know one another, where I’ll invite you to share your experiences, your current challenges, and what you hope to achieve through therapy. We’ll also engage in motivational interviewing, a key part of our process that helps you explore your own motivations for change. This involves open-ended questions and reflective listening to help you gain clarity about your goals and any ambivalence you might feel. During this initial meeting, we’ll also discuss and set some preliminary goals. This helps ensure that we are both aligned in our approach and that our sessions are focused and productive. We’ll work together to identify what success looks like for you and how we can tailor our sessions to meet your specific needs. Additionally, we’ll take time to understand the unique aspects of your life, including your personal history, strengths, and any obstacles you may be facing. This comprehensive understanding allows us to create a personalized and effective therapeutic plan. Ultimately, the first session is about laying the groundwork for our work together. It’s a time for you to ask questions, voice any concerns, and begin to feel comfortable and supported. I look forward to embarking on this journey with you and supporting your growth and healing every

I’ve been using CBT in my practice for the past 10 years. It’s helped dozens of clients challenge recurring thoughts and manage their anxiety and depression. We’ll use CBT to recognize how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors interact with one another. We’ll then use that knowledge to change your thinking patterns, which will help you lead a more relaxed and less stressful life.
