New to Grow
I have 15 years of experience providing psychotherapy in multidisciplinary practices essentially as a generalist; the primary focus of my practice is very much on establishing a solid connection with my patients, which I believe creates a supportive and safe sense of relationship with me - essential for change and ongoing definition of goals. My own personal goal for my patients is giving them a sense of what the solution might look, and feel, like.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
First sessions typically involve getting to know each other, and providing time for patient to ask questions - especially if this is their first time in therapy. I try not to spend too much time getting history until it's clear that we're going to work together.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
Relationship building always comes first. My patients tell me often that I have a calming influence, and that this facilitates their connecting with me. I also like to know more about what patients think that the solution looks like, since this inevitably defines the process that we'll follow together.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
Identification of solid treatment goals is clearly key; I check in with my patients regularly so that we can monitor progress, and ensure that we're 'on track'.
Attachment-based
Forming a therapeutic alliance is essential in strengthening attachment and enabling change.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
