New clients continue care with this provider

Hi! My name is Hannah, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in California. I obtained my BA in Psychology from UCLA in 2016 and my Master of Social Work at Cal State San Bernardino in 2019. I've worked primarily in adult outpatient mental health since 2019, providing individual and group therapy. As a social worker, I believe in the importance of addressing individual needs in the context of broader cultural, political, and economic context- no one lives in a bubble, we are all impacted by the society we live in. I work through a feminist, progressive, and sex positive framework.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will spend most of the time talking about you and what brings you in to therapy. We'll complete a biopsychosocial interview- basically just learning more about you, your history, and your current circumstances so that we can plan treatment that will work best for you! I also will tell you a little bit about myself, and you will have time to ask any questions you might have.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe that my greatest strength as a provider is my ability to meet clients where they are at without judgement, with warmth and a sense of humor. I believe in utilizing integrative therapy- tailoring interventions and treatment to the individual in front of me, not to a label or diagnosis, based on their own needs and goals.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients who are ready to come into therapy with a sense of curiosity and an idea of what they would like to see change in their lives- if you aren't quite sure what change you want to see, we can figure that out together!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is an approach I've used successfully with clients and in my own life that focuses on the interactions between our thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, and how we can make changes in the way we think and what we do, to reduce the negative impacts of depression, stress, and anxiety.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I do not provide full DBT, but have been trained specifically in teaching Dialectical Behavior Skills- skills in the areas of emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. I love these skills because they are straightforward and practical, and can be practiced immediately!

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

ACT is a type of therapy that focuses on being able to live a meaningful and fulfilling life, amidst the stress and pain that also sometimes come along. I have used ACT-based interventions to help clients with depression, anxiety, and ADHD live by their values and meet goals effectively.
