New to Grow
I am a licensed clinical social worker living in Durango, Colorado and I have been in private practice for about 8 years. When I am not working with people in therapy I love spending time with my family, trail running, and gardening. I love getting to know my clients and helping them live the lives they want to live - it is an honor to do this work!
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
For our first session, I will ask you some questions to get to know more about you and your background so that I can have all of the relevant context in our work together. We will also spend some time setting some goals for treatment and of course answering any questions you have for me about my approach or how therapy works.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I am a client-centered therapist, and it is my job to figure out how to make therapy as helpful for you as possible. We will work together to see what methods might work best for you, whether that's focusing on skills or holding space to process through something together.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I work with a range of people and find that if you are motivated to make changes in your life, then we will likely be a good fit. I want to help support you in reaching your goals, and I see us as collaborators. I particularly have experience working with clients who struggle with anxiety, people who want to improve their relationships, people diagnosed with Borderline Personality Disorder, and new parents, but I also work with a lot of other presenting concerns.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I am intensively trained in DBT and primarily use this modality in combination with a client-centered approach. This can range anywhere from DBT-informed therapy to comprehensive DBT, and I will work with the client to find the best fit.
