Hello, Do you ever feel like anxiety is preventing you from living up to your full potential? I empower high-functioning clients such as yourself to reduce the sometimes debilitating effects of anxiety to help you live a more fulfilling life. I am Lakeesha, a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Georgia. Not only do I have a wealth of experience working with clients challenged with depression, anxiety, ADHD, and family and relationship issues; but I also have a great deal of experience in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy which I use to help clients through emotional trauma. I am known as a good listener, compassionate and caring. I develop a therapeutic rapport by engaging with my clients and being empathetic. I provide a positive, respectful and non-judgmental safe space where you can express your feelings and realize your potential. Life is challenging but my goal is to equip you with the skills needed to help you navigate the difficult times and empower you to improve your quality of life. Thank you for trusting me to support you on this journey while learning new skills to become your best self. Congratulations and I am looking forward to working with you soon!

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I will spend the first session getting to know you and what you would like to receive from therapy. I will also help you to identify triggers that lead to the symptoms you are experiencing. I love mixing conversation with mindfulness and relaxation techniques. I also give out-of-session assignments that encourage you to practice relaxation techniques. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed, anxious, depressed or experiencing relationship issues, I am here to help. Seeking therapy can feel intimidating but your decision to start therapy is a good choice. You owe it to yourself to heal and grow. Congratulations on taking the first step and I look forward to working with you soon!

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I use cognitive behavioral therapy to help you identify and overcome negative thought patterns; in addition to helping you see how those thought patterns affect your behavior.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strength is helping clients reduce anxiety symptoms by incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I will help you to identify triggers as well as help you to identify coping skills that work best for you.
