Hi there! I am Kirsten, and I have been a social worker for five years. I have worked in trauma emergency rooms for the past 5 years. I have been counseling for about a year now and I am in love with counseling and speaking with people. Do you lay awake at night with an overwhelmed mind? I help with easing the mind. I am able to help you through past trauma and current trauma. I am able to help those experience compassion fatigue and burn out from work to home. I am passionate to help with relationship issues and use compassion and empathy. I am passionate about working with CBT to alleviate anxiety and overthinking. Together we can work through past traumas and identify the triggers that cause your anxiety with mindfulness, journaling and coloring. Whether you're dealing with overwhelm, relationship issues or cycles of anxiety and depression, I'm here to help. Seeking therapy can feel scary but you're making the right choice. You deserve a safe space to heal and grow. In our sessions together, I'll meet you with compassion and evidence-based techniques so you can overcome the hangups and habits holding you back. Let's work together to help you establish equilibrium in your life and in your mind.
In our first session together, we will start with introductions, then dive into specifics as to challenges you’re facing. This will help both of us create an individualized plan for you. This plan we will work through in follow-up sessions.
My passion for working with anxiety comes from feeling anxiety throughout the day. I love to work through the thoughts or actions that can become a trigger for you. I am passionate about being able to function even with high anxiety. I love to work with depression because it is interesting to me. Depression can make you feel alone and isolated and I love to work on using techniques to help you function and feel motivated. I can help you identify unhealthy coping mechanisms such as self-harm, substance abuse, ect. I have a very big heart for relationship issues and domestic violence. Coming from a relationship that was abusive, I love to listen and help find solutions. I am experienced with providing the correct resources and helping you find a safe solution.
Using CBT to help rewire negative thinking can help anxiety and depression symptoms lessen each time a negative is turned into a positive.
This method is to help those process the grieving process and understand grief.
This is an approach to care that recognizes the widespread impact of trauma and promotes environments of healing and recovery. It seeks to understand and respond to the signs and symptoms of trauma in patients, families, and staff, and to avoid re-traumatization.
