My name is Dr. Marvin. I serve people who are on a journey to get to the next season in life by leveling up their game. I serve with a passion to understand people in their own context non-judgmentally. I lead with a goal to empower people so they can learn to embrace difficult situations and create more wins. My approach is rooted in an understanding of the brain's incredible capacity for change and healing. In my practice, I utilize evidence-based modalities with an eclectic approach. For clients in addiction recovery, I pair clinical skills with options from SMART Recovery and AA. My goal is to support a person in their journey. I believe in a holistic that considers every aspect of a person’s well-being, from their physical health to their emotional and psychological landscapes. I have found success in working with children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. I have a specific passion for helping to stabilize the family unit and support couples to preserve relationships.
Our first session will be a collaborative, no-pressure opportunity for us to get to know each other. I'll begin by inviting you to share your story at your own pace, focusing on what you are experiencing now and what you hope to achieve. We'll discuss your personal history, your strengths, and the challenges you're facing. I will ask questions to understand your unique experiences with trauma, anxiety, or other concerns. I will always remain nonjudgmental. Most importantly, we'll establish a safe space where you feel heard and understood. The goal of this first meeting is not to dive deep into every issue, but to lay a foundation of trust and to begin identifying a clear path forward for your healing journey. People deserve respect, independency, and to take steps forward with their dignity intact.
My greatest strength as a therapist is my ability to connect with people on a genuine level. I believe a strong connection is the foundation of all healing. My passion is to help you feel empowered to take the lead in your own life and make meaningful changes. I'll work collaboratively with you, listening to your story and guiding you to a place where you can see your true strength and value. I firmly believe that everyone is created with a unique purpose, and my goal is to help you discover and embrace yours.
My purpose is to walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and growth. I support children, adolescents, and adults, and I have a deep passion for helping those who feel they've run out of solutions. Having experience with severe mental illness and high-acuity needs, I'm prepared for complex challenges. I see each session as an opportunity to co-lead with you, empowering you to navigate your path. My passion is rooted in my heart for mental illness and addiction. As a young person myself, I witnessed the impact of mental illness and addiction on my family, friends, and local community. Together, we will find a way forward.

I use ACT to help you develop psychological flexibility. We can work on embracing difficult thoughts and feelings rather than fighting them, allowing you to commit to actions that align with your personal values.
I apply CBT to help you identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors. For suicide prevention, this involves a structured approach to build coping skills and a safety plan, focusing on reframing thoughts and creating a clear path toward hope.
DBT is integrated to build skills in four key areas: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness. This helps you manage intense emotions and navigate relationships more effectively. I use DBT often and clients have a positive response to the modality!
I use EMDR to help you heal from the weight of your past. By guiding you through gentle bilateral stimulation—like eye movements—we help your brain reprocess memories that feel "stuck." This reduces the emotional pain, allowing you to feel more peaceful and free.
For clients seeking faith-based support, I can integrate Christian principles and values into our sessions, providing a spiritual framework for healing and personal growth. Using scripture and spirituality in recovery can be a game changer!
