Hello! I'm Marisa and I'm a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner, located and working with clients in New Jersey. I received my bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania and I provide top-notch virtual sessions to support clients on their mental health journeys. My specialties include mood disorders, addiction treatment, anxiety disorders, trauma disorders, and neurodivergence.
In our first session we will walk through your history of symptoms, medical history, family history and current stressors. We will talk about some possible routes to go in to manage symptoms, discuss risks/benefits, decide together on next steps and schedule when we should next meet to assess our current plan. We can meet for how long or how often is appropriate for best managing your symptoms.
As a provider well-versed in a variety of treatment approaches, including medication, talk therapy, genetic testing and herbal remedies, I can help us create a unique, individualized treatment plan that helps us meet your goals while also respecting your preferences.
I work very well with adults who are struggling with managing their anxiety and mood symptoms. I use a holistic approach to treatment including medication, therapeutic modalities and alternative/complimentary methods and we can work together to tailor our treatment plan to your preferences.

She was so kind, listened to my concerns; more than that, she made all the stereotypical questions seem personal and like she genuinely cared about everything I was worried about. She explained all her findings at the end which was really helpful to me and explained exactly what she thought the plan should be based on her expertise--still let me input my thoughts into it too. Super nice person, highly recommend

Marisa is caring, knowledgeable, and compassionate. I struggled for years to find a provider who understood OCD, and she is the first one who gets it and treats it effectively. She’s great. 😊

Marisa was great at listening to what I had to say and also bringing the conversation back to the topic when I went a little far off the beaten path. She listened to my history without any judgement and let me tell my truth, I felt so validated and heard. Then when we were going over the treatment plan she asked my consent, didn't just say this is what you get and end the session, or tell me I'm too broken like others have in the past. Thank you so much Marisa!
I was trained as a trauma informed care specialist and take time with every client to gain awareness and respectfully provide care based on previous experiences.
I was extensively trained on cognitive behavior therapy while obtaining my master's degree and use pieces of CBT or follow the complete protocol in my interactions with clients, based on the preferences.
I am trained on CBT-i, which is the first-line treatment for insomnia and is evidence-based to improve symptoms related to falling or staying asleep.
I have been utilizing and teaching about motivational interviewing for 5 years and have helped many clients looking to make changes in their everyday life prepare and sustain their changed behavior long-term.
I am educated in both therapeutic techniques and medication management and work with clients to give them the information they need for informed, collaborative decision-making.
