About me

My name is Sarah, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker committed to providing a space where you feel safe, seen, and heard throughout your healing journey. I believe therapy should feel like a safe space where you can explore, heal, and grow at your own pace. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of providing therapy in diverse settings—including schools, via telehealth, in a stable while utilizing equine-assisted psychotherapy, and a state prison—which has given me the experience to connect with people no matter where they are in their healing process.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Your first therapy session is a chance for us to get to know each other and begin understanding what brought you to therapy. We will talk about what has been going on for you, what you hope to explore and/or change, and what you would like from our work together. You can expect me to ask some questions in order to get a sense of your background and current situation. Though, there is no need to share anything before you are ready. It is okay to feel nervous and/or unsure of where to start. My goal is to create a safe, comfortable space where you can start to feel heard and supported.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My therapeutic approach is collaborative, practical, and compassionate. I integrate cognitive-behavioral techniques with mindfulness-based strategies to help adolescents and adults gain insight, develop coping skills, and build resilience. I tailor each session to the unique needs and goals of the individual, creating a balance between structured skill-building and open, supportive exploration. My goal is to help clients better understand themselves, manage stress, and make meaningful changes which improve their overall well-being.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve adolescents, adults, and families navigating life’s challenges and transitions. I am passionate about supporting clients healing from trauma, identity challenges, and past experiences that still impact their daily life. I work best with those who are seeking safety, understanding, and empowerment as they rebuild trust in themselves and others.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilize cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients focus on identifying and changing unhelpful patterns of thinking (cognitions), emotional responses, and behaviors.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing (MI) is best used to help clients resolve ambivalence and strengthen their motivation for positive change.

Strength-Based

I implement strength-based therapy (SBT) in order to identify, develop, and leverage a client's innate strengths, resources, and abilities. By emphasizing what is working and what can be built upon, it fosters resilience, confidence, and sustainable personal growth.

Trauma-Focused CBT

Trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) focuses on both processing the trauma and strengthening coping strategies to improve functioning. I will act as a guide and support while creating a safe environment to process trauma and teach coping skills. I will balance exposure to trauma with skill building to ensure emotional safety.
