I am a graduate of Savannah State University where I earned both a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Social Work. I enjoy reading, music and learning new things. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a background in various areas including Developmental Disabilities, End Stage Renal Disease, Kidney Transplant, Oncology, Stem Cell Transplant and Behavior Coaching, providing counseling and therapy within each role.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and explore what brings you to therapy. We’ll review confidentiality and what you can expect from the therapy process. I’ll ask some questions to understand your background, current challenges, and goals. You don’t need to have all the answers—just come as you are. Together, we’ll create a space that feels safe, supportive, and focused on your needs.
I believe what makes me stand apart is my ability to create a warm and judgment-free space where clients feel truly seen and heard. I bring a calm, compassionate presence and a deep respect for each person's unique story. With experience supporting clients through both emotional challenges and chronic health conditions, I integrate evidence-based practices with a person-centered approach—helping you feel empowered, understood, and supported as you work toward healing and growth.
I specialize in working with individuals navigating life transitions, anxiety, depression, and the emotional impact of chronic illnesses or medical diagnoses including cancer, diabetes, high blood pressure, End Stage Renal Disease, among others. My ideal clients are those who may feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected—whether due to stress, health challenges, or shifting roles and identities. I will work with you to set goals that measure, achievable, positive and specific.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented, evidence-based approach commonly used by therapists to help clients identify and change unhelpful thought and behavior patterns. I may teach various coping skills and give homework to help you apply what you learn outside of sessions.
Solution-Focused Therapy is about helping you figure out what you want your life to look like and what steps can help you get there. We’ll talk about your goals, what’s already going well, and what’s worked for you in the past, instead of focusing on the problem. Even small changes can make a big difference, and we’ll build on your strengths to help you move forward."
DBT is a type of therapy that helps you manage intense emotions, improve your relationships, and feel more in control of your actions. It teaches you practical skills in four main areas: how to stay present in the moment, how to handle stress in healthy ways, how to manage your emotions, and how to communicate more effectively with others.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy helps you feel more present and aware of your thoughts, emotions, and body without judging yourself. Instead of getting stuck in worries about the past or future, it teaches you how to focus on what's happening right now—and respond with calm instead of reacting on autopilot.
Motivational Interviewing is a way of having a conversation that helps you explore your own reasons for making a change. There's no pressure; I’ll support you in figuring out what matters to you, what changes you might want, and how you can move forward at your own pace.
