New to Grow
Are you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or anxious? Are you struggling with your self-confidence? Would you like to work on more effective communication? I am here to help! My approach to therapy involves creating a safe, warm, comfortable environment. In my practice I treat anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, grief, and relationship issues. My role as a therapist is to help you learn the tools for a less stressed, happier, more confident you.
First sessions are usually the most stressful because they are new (new therapist, maybe first experience with therapy). I work to lessen the stress of those sessions by creating trust in a warm, compassionate way, while also getting to know you and what is going on in your life.
I have worked in schools, outpatient facilities, group settings, and virtual counseling. These different experiences have given me a broad look at the needs of clients, and varying ways to address them.
I have worked with children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of settings. I provide individual (one on one) therapy, and joint therapy sessions for families. I use mindfulness and grounding techniques in my practice frequently. I also teach clients how to communicate more effectively.
I use CBT to help clients recognize the relationship between thoughts and behaviors. This is used to help people set goals and achieve them through thought challenging. Anxiety and depression are the areas where I commonly apply CBT.
I work with couples to help increase their use of effective communication. I also help couples to change the way that they disagree, in order to share their thoughts and feelings in a productive, relationship enhancing way.
I use mindfulness to help clients be in the here and now. This is often used to help clients that are struggling with anxiety cope with those feelings.
Person centered therapy is my most commonly used therapy. This approach is lead by the client for their own self-discovery and personal growth.
