I’m a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years of experience supporting adults and adolescents from diverse backgrounds. I hold a BA in Journalism and Communications from Hampton University and a Master’s in Social Work from Howard University. I work with clients navigating anxiety, stress, family and relationship challenges, and major life transitions such as college, new parenthood, or career changes. My goal is to help people strengthen self-awareness, improve communication, and create more balance in their relationships and daily lives. My approach is grounded in authenticity, compassion, and collaboration. Drawing from cognitive-behavioral, relational, and strengths-based perspectives, I create a supportive space for exploring emotions and building intentional strategies for growth. My own healing journey—shaped by faith, adoption, and the power of community—inspires me to walk alongside others through both expected and unexpected changes. I believe in the freedom that comes from doing the work: acknowledging pain, releasing what no longer serves us, and reclaiming joy.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I’ll get curious about your story, your needs, and what brought you to therapy. I ask thoughtful questions to understand patterns, challenges, and strengths, particularly around anxiety, relationships, and major life transitions. With humor, honesty, and compassion, we’ll begin mapping out your goals and finding language for your experiences—because naming what you feel is often the first step toward growth and healing.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What stands out about my approach is the strong connection I build with clients. I love seeing their progress, hearing about their families, and holding space for both the highs and the hard moments. It’s a joy and honor to witness the growth that comes from their intentions.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to work with clients who sense that something has shifted in their lives—whether a feeling, a habit, or a pattern—and are ready to explore what’s behind it. My ideal client is open, curious, and willing to go with the flow of therapy rather than overnight change. They approach sessions with authenticity, even when discussing experiences or feelings that may feel embarrassing or uncomfortable. Together, we work on understanding how past experiences have shaped them and cultivating the ability to embrace all parts of themselves without shame.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns and create space to explore and understand them. Together, we navigate these thoughts with curiosity rather than judgment, examine how they influence emotions and behaviors, and develop alternative, more supportive ways of responding. I have experience applying this approach to support clients through life transitions, as well as professional and personal conflicts, with a focus on building practical skills that promote clarity, resilience, and effective coping.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use a solution-focused approach to help clients identify goals and create practical strategies for change. Clients partner with me to explore strengths and resources, focusing on actionable steps they can take to address challenges and achieve meaningful progress. This approach emphasizes collaboration, clarity, and tangible results.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I approach therapy with cultural sensitivity and humility, prioritizing an understanding of each client’s value system, including the role of culture and faith. I work collaboratively to incorporate these values into treatment in a respectful, strengths-based way, creating a supportive space that honors identity and promotes meaningful, values-aligned growth.

Interpersonal

I use Interpersonal Therapy (IPT) to help clients understand how relationships and communication patterns impact their emotional well-being. Together, we explore interpersonal roles, boundaries, and life transitions, and work to improve communication skills and relational functioning. This approach supports clients in navigating personal and professional relationships with greater clarity, connection, and emotional support.

Psychodynamic

I use a psychodynamic approach to help clients gain insight into how past experiences and relational patterns influence present thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Together, we explore recurring themes and emotional responses to increase self-awareness, foster understanding, and support meaningful, lasting change.
