I’m a licensed clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience in providing behavioral health care. I believe in seeing people as more than their diagnosis. No one should have to suffer needlessly. My goal is to help you achieve a better quality of life, and provide you with the tools to maintain it. Using evidenced based techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapies, we will develop an individual plan that is measurement based. This ensures that you will be able to track your progress throughout your treatment.
The first session involves establishing rapport, conducting assessments, understanding client issues, and developing a treatment plan to address client goals.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to my ability to meet clients where they are without judgment. My intuition which helps foster insights into clients issues, and partner with clients in finding solutions.
The thing my clients have in common is a desire to be open to learning how to uncover and embrace all parts of themselves, and a willingness to do the work needed to create life affirming habits.
I use CBT as a problem focused technique to assist clients in developing insights into their limiting beliefs,. This is an action oriented approach to creating concrete goals to manage depression, anxiety or stress and improve their quality of life.
I respect all faith traditions and incorporate religious and spiritual beliefs into the therapeutic process.
Grief is an inevitable part of life associated with many kinds of loss. My goal is to support clients as they navigate this process. I help clients to adapt to the reality of the loss, manage the pain, and create a new reality that honors their relationship
I employ Imago therapy in working with couples who are experiencing disconnect in their relationship. I have found this approach highly effective in helping partners to recognize their wounded parts, learn communication skills to reduce conflict and create deeper connection.
I use mindfulness therapy to help clients increase their conscious self awareness in the present moment without judgement. Examining thoughts, feelings , and actions from a mindfulness perspective helps clients release shame and self blame.
