New to Grow
Hi, I'm Wanda, and I'm an Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have been in mental health field for almost 15 years. I have worked in a wide variety of mental health settings, from community, private practice, and corrections. As the spouse of a retired Army veteran. I also have experience with a variety of different cultures and ethic backgrounds. I believe that each person is unique and wonderfully made. My style is warm, direct, and collaborative. I use practical, evidence-based approaches like CBT, ACT, and solution-focused work, but tailored to your pace and your needs. Whether you're working through anxiety, depression, or past trauma, we’ll focus on building real skills, self-compassion, and a stronger connection to who you are and what you want.
You can expect from our first session to begin to develop a therapeutic relationship which includes developing trust, and creating a space that is your own to explore internal wounds, worries and fears without fear of judgement. We will explore your past and what has made you who you are today through the use of clinical assessment tools.
Most of my clients tell me that that they feel heard and seen during our sessions. I give my undivided attention to each client and feel honored that they have chosen me to share some of their most private hopes and fears.
I'm looking forward to working with individuals who are serious about their mental health. I enjoy working with individuals who may be feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure of where to turn next? You don’t have to have all the answers. In fact, I believe those answers are already within you — sometimes we just need space and support to uncover them. That’s where therapy can help. My approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in genuine care. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental environment where you feel truly heard and seen. Together, we'll explore what's getting in the way of the life you want, and gently work toward clarity, healing, and lasting change. Whether you're navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, life transitions, or simply looking to create a greater sense of calm in a chaotic world. Together we can help you find a way forward to the peace you seeking. Therapy isn’t about fixing what’s broken. It’s about giving you the space to show up as you are, say things you’ve never said out loud, and finally be heard. It’s about untangling the noise, getting clear on what you need, and building a life that actually feels like yours.
As a therapist, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help individuals identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, behaviors, and beliefs that contribute to emotional distress. My approach is collaborative and structured, focusing on both the cognitive and behavioral components of mental health. Through CBT, clients learn to identify and reframe negative thought patterns (e.g., cognitive distortions like catastrophizing, overgeneralization) that contribute to anxiety, depression, or other concerns. I help clients develop healthier coping strategies and problem-solving skills to manage stress, negative emotions, and everyday challenges. I help clients to engage in behavioral changes such as gradual exposure to feared situations or increasing positive, goal-oriented behaviors to improve well-being.
