    About

My name is Natalie Baker and I use she/they pronouns. I am a licensed Professional Counselor of Mental Health in the state of New Jersey. I have over 20 years of experience in mental health. Welcome! I am so glad you are here. Life is a journey made up of many steps. I am glad you are moving forward to improve your wellness. I am excited to help you. Together, we will build a collaborative and trusting relationship. We will create a place where you can truly be seen and all of you can be acknowledged.

    I use a neurodivergent-affirming, gender-affirming, non-pathologizing therapy lens within a racial justice framework.

I look forward to helping you move towards healing

    First session

In our first session, we’ll set collaborative goals to bring clarity to our work and help us track your progress over time. I aim to create a safe, affirming space where you can explore your experiences, better understand yourself, and move toward meaningful change. My approach is client-led and rooted in deep respect for your individual needs and values. I integrate a range of evidence-based and compassionate modalities, including Internal Family Systems (IFS), EMDR, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Person-Centered Therapy, Compassionate Inquiry, Somatic Experiencing, and mindfulness practices. These approaches allow us to work holistically--supporting emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and deeper self-awareness. At the heart of my work is the belief that everyone has inherent worth. I’m here to support you in cultivating curiosity, self-compassion, and a stronger connection to your own inner wisdom.

    Strengths

What makes me unique as a therapist is my lived experience. I am neurodivergent, an immigrant, fat, disabled, and queer. I use a neurodivergent-affirming, gender-affirming, non-pathologizing therapy lens within a racial justice framework. I am curious, open, and non-judgmental. Imagine a world where you are calm, warm and open hearted. You have the ability to heal yourself, and I will give you the tools

    Ideal clients

If you’ve often felt different, misunderstood, or like you don’t quite fit in, I’m here to create a space where you can feel genuinely safe, seen, and valued. I specialize in working with queer and neurodivergent individuals and those who carry the impact of trauma. My approach is grounded in affirmation and respect for your unique identity and experiences. Together, we’ll work toward healing that honors your whole self–mind, body, and spirit–helping you build resilience, self-compassion, and a deeper sense of belonging. If you’re ready to explore therapy in a space that truly understands and embraces your complexity, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

"I came in wanting to better understand my gaps in childhood memories. The provider created a warm, welcoming space that made sharing easy. We discussed how traumatic events often stick because of how the brain stores and retells them, while positive experiences like family vacations can fade unless we revisit them. This first meeting laid a strong foundation for working on improving my memory and learning how to hold onto more positive experiences."

Natalie is the best! I have been with her on another platform for 3.5 years now, and she is by far the best therapist I have ever had. She has changed my life for the better.
