About me

Hello! Welcome! My name is Lindsey Niebauer. I have been in the mental health field for over 10 years. I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University in 2021 and received my LPC in 2024. I have worked in the counseling field in several settings, including in-home, outpatient, and school settings. I have experience working with adults, adolescents, and children. In my free time, I love to spend time with my husband and two daughters. I love to read and enjoy hiking, swimming, and kayaking.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In the first session, we will begin building rapport by discussing your interests, your goals, and your motivations. Why do you want therapy? What are your missing links? What are your strengths and weaknesses? This session is aimed at getting to know you better!

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I love helping others! I love seeing my clients fulfilling themselves and becoming who they always wanted to be! I primarily utilize the cognitive behavioral therapy approach while mixing in some brief solution-focused therapy, as well as always remaining person-centered. Therapy is for my clients, not for me. I believe no therapy approach is perfect for everyone. Each one of us is unique, and so is our therapeutic process. Why fit in when we were born to stand out!

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are motivated to make meaningful changes in your life. If you are not just looking to talk, but rather you are ready to take action. If you are open to exploring the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and you are willing to challenge unhelpful patterns, track your progress, and apply what you learn outside of sessions. If you are not expecting perfection, but you’re committed to growth and you want a therapist who is collaborative, supportive, and will hold you accountable as you move toward a healthier, more empowered version of yourself, then you are in the right place! Together, we will explore your goals, and together, we will take the steps necessary to be the best version of you!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing CBT methods for over 4 years as a mental health counselor. I aim to focus on how a person's thoughts and beliefs influence the behaviors and choices one makes, and then developing a treatment approach to better manage these thoughts and behaviors.

Motivational Interviewing

You’re in a place where you know something needs to change — even if you're not 100% sure what that change looks like yet. Maybe you're feeling stuck, conflicted, or uncertain about your next steps. You don’t need someone to tell you what to do — you want someone who will listen without judgment, help you explore your reasons for change, and support your autonomy in the process. You’re open to self-reflection and ready to have honest conversations about your goals, values, and what truly matters to you. You may not have all the answers yet, but you’re willing to look within to find them — with a little guidance along the way.

Psychoeducation

You’re someone who wants to understand what’s happening beneath the surface — not just feel better, but know why you feel the way you do. You believe that knowledge is power, and you're eager to learn about how your brain, body, and emotions are connected. You’re curious, open-minded, and ready to explore the science and psychology behind your experiences. You want a therapist who will walk beside you not just as a guide, but as a teacher — someone who explains concepts clearly, offers practical insights, and equips you with tools you can use in everyday life. You're here to become not just more self-aware, but more self-informed.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

If you are goal-oriented, hopeful, and ready to focus on solutions rather than problems, this approach helps you move forward. You may not have everything figured out, but you believe change is possible — even if it's just a small step to start. You’re not here to dwell on the past; you're more interested in building a future that works. You appreciate a focused, goal-driven approach and want to work with a therapist who helps you uncover your strengths, resources, and what's already working. You come to sessions open to possibilities, curious about what’s next, and willing to explore how small shifts can lead to meaningful change. You're not looking for endless therapy — you want effective, forward-moving conversations that help you create real results in your life
