Hello! My name is Noel Tola, founder of Safe Space Counseling. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counseling in the state of Florida (license # IMH 22379). I hold a master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling and a bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a minor in Psychology. I am also currently working on a doctoral degree in Psychology with specialization in Trauma and Natural Disaster relief. In my practice, I specialize in working with substance use and trauma. I work with varying types of relational issues and populations, including caregiving, communication, family dynamics, anxiety, marital/couples, childhood and adolescence, parenting, sibling, divorce, and work/life balance.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will discuss the therapeutic process, review legalities of privacy practices and procedures, briefly go over goals, and discuss what therapy will look like. All while having a good conversation while getting to know you!

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strength as a therapist would be my ability to foster a strong, ethical therapeutic alliance. I have found that with this strong foundation, individuals are able to explore the areas of improvement with ease.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with individuals who are eager to improve whatever situation they feel stuck in. Though we might not know the exact way to get there, it is my pleasure walking alongside individuals through whatever life might throw at us.

My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have specialized training in helping individuals who have experienced trauma, such as abuse, accidents, or other distressing events. Trauma-focused CBT helps people to identify and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors related to trauma. This approach typically involves gradual exposure to trauma-related triggers and coping strategies to reduce symptoms like anxiety and flashbacks, ultimately promoting healing and resilience.
