Hi! My name is Chloe and I am passionate about my work with others. I began my journey working with survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. I worked with survivors of all ages and gender identities. I have expanded my journey to include working with clients experiencing a wide array of concerns, including anxiety, depression, relationship issues, infidelity, self-esteem, self-harm, and work-life balance. I welcome clients with concerns beyond those listed and am dedicated to increasing my knowledgeable so that I may effectively meet the needs of my clients.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
I take a client-centered approach to every aspect of my work, to include building the therapeutic alliance. The first session will be about getting to know one another and working together to determine your goals for therapy. While obtaining background information is important, I will only go as far as you are willing to take me during the first session. Building a foundation of trust takes precedence. We will have plenty of time to dig deep and break through during our time together!
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I think what makes me unique is that I am relatable. I never forget that I am human and have countless faults of my own. I strive to maintain an environment that promotes security and a sense of equality. My clients are safe from the power imbalance that is typical in most therapeutic alliances. My clients are able make a greater investment into their own self-empowerment by not having the subconscious expectation to invest power into the the therapist.
The clients I'm best positioned to serve
I am here to serve anyone who is ready to do the work! You don't need to be able to verbalize what is troubling you. You don't need to come fully prepared with a treatment plan. You don't even need to commit to doing homework. You just need to be aware that something needs to change and be willing to work toward that change. I will meet you wherever you are at in that process and together we will see it through!
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) has proven successful in helping my clients overcome patterns of negative thinking, which ultimately lead to less than desirable behaviors. I have found CBT to be highly beneficial in assisting my clients in understanding the significant impact that thoughts, feelings, and behaviors have on one another. Once clients are able to identify this impact on their own as it occurs, they begin to take control of negative thought processes and initiate positive changes independently, outside of our sessions. This newfound sense of control empowers clients to make the positive behavioral changes and encourages appropriate decision making. All of this results in improved sense of self and more positive feelings about life overall.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a favorite of mine because it allows the client to “talk it out” in a way that guides them to identify, process, and manage intense emotions that they may have otherwise suppressed deep inside themselves. Doing so helps clients to regulate their emotions, improve interpersonal relationships, and even reduce self-harm behaviors.
Strength-Based
I am big on self-empowerment, so Strength-Based Therapy is incorporated into most client sessions. Regardless of the current concerns or situation, it is imperative to help clients identify, develop, and utilize their inherent strengths. Clients who are able to identify their strengths and acknowledge how they helped them get through previous challenges are better prepared to handle any challenges that may come to pass.
