Hello and welcome to your healing journey! My name is JaSarah N. Baldwin. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist - Associate. I would first like to thank you for considering me to be a part of our journey and for taking this incredible step in your life. I am an advocate for mental health wellness for myself and others. Sometimes in life we are hit with so many obstacles that we do not know what or where to go. My goal as a counselor is to assist you with what you need to jump of the hurdles that you may experience.
The initial session will approximately be 60 minutes sessions can occur weekly, biweekly or monthly per the progress of the client in the therapeutic session. If at any time you feel that you need to reschedule or change appointment times, please contact me at least 48 hours prior to scheduled appointment. If at any time I may need to reschedule or change appointment times, I will contact you at least 48 hours prior to scheduled appointment. Missing more than two sessions without reasonable contact with the counselor, will result in termination of services. I currently accept Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance. A co-payment could be expected to be paid upon each session to the front office. Depending on the specific health insurance depends on your individual co-payment. A co-payment could range from $100 per session. I accept Visa/Master credit card for a method of payment.
In order for progress in sessions, both I and the client must be held accountable. We both have to work together which means the client must be open and willing to participate in order to help/benefit the relationship with the client and counselor. In addition being able to work with the family to help with the progress of the client and their goals is important as well.
I provide Individual therapy and family therapy that is focused primarily on your specific needs. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Trauma-focused CBT, Person Centered therapy and Play therapy to assist each client with meeting their specific goal. I use person centered therapy as a way for my clients to explore their thoughts and feelings without judgment, ultimately leading to self-discovery and positive change.
Play therapy is a technique I also use that allows children who may struggle with regulating their emotions or expressing how they feel verbally. They are able to actively use play to communicate and focus on their actions and behaviors and develop coping skills.
Trauma- Focused CBT allows children and adolescents focus on reducing emotional and behavioral symptoms associated with trauma by helping them process their traumatic experiences, develop coping skills, and improve family communication.
