LCSW, 5 years of experience
Hi, my name is Kenisha and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Florida, I received my master's degree from the University of Central Florida. I focus on providing services to women that are struggling with life transitions and past trauma. I have spent the last five years helping women overcome their inability to set boundaries and create inner peace. I enjoy finding new ways to help my clients grow and overcome feelings of anxiety, hopelessness, grief, stress and distress. My passion for helping others continues to grow with each client I help. I have discovered that clients need someone they can trust and talk to without judgment, which has always been my primary focus. I look forward to positively impacting more lives and helping others to reach the level of growth and peace they are seeking.
Beginning therapy is a big step toward change, and it’s normal to feel both hopeful and nervous about the first session. My practice focuses on helping individuals who experience anxiety, feel stuck, or are struggling to navigate major life transitions. Whether you’re facing uncertainty about relationships, career changes, or identity shifts, this first session is about creating a safe and supportive space where you can start to breathe again, gain clarity, and begin your path toward growth. When you arrive—whether virtually or in person—you can expect a calm, welcoming environment. If we’re meeting online, I’ll encourage you to find a quiet, comfortable space where you can speak freely. The first few minutes are typically spent settling in, helping you feel at ease, and reviewing a few housekeeping details like confidentiality, session length, and my role as your therapist. Everything you share in therapy is confidential (with a few legal exceptions related to safety, which I’ll clearly explain). My goal is to create a nonjudgmental environment where you feel safe to be fully yourself. This session isn’t about diving straight into the hardest parts of your story—it’s about establishing trust and building a foundation for the work ahead. Once you feel comfortable, we’ll start by exploring what brought you to therapy. You don’t need to have your thoughts perfectly organized—most clients begin by saying something like, “I just feel stuck,” or “I’m overwhelmed and not sure where to start.” That’s completely okay. During the first session, I’ll begin helping you make sense of how anxiety or life changes show up in your body, mind, and relationships. For example, we might explore how your nervous system responds under stress (racing thoughts, tension, avoidance), or how perfectionism, people-pleasing, or fear of failure keeps you feeling “stuck.” It’s completely normal to have questions about therapy. Some clients wonder how long it will take, what happens if they become emotional, or whether they’re “doing it right.” In the first session, I’ll take time to address any concerns and ensure you feel informed and empowered in this process. If you’re nervous about vulnerability, that’s okay too. Many clients feel guarded at first, especially if they’ve had to “stay strong” for others. I’ll meet you exactly where you are, and you’ll never be pressured to share more than you’re ready to. The first session is just the beginning of a journey toward rediscovering your sense of peace and purpose. My role is to walk beside you as we untangle the thoughts, fears, and experiences that have kept you stuck. Together, we’ll work toward helping you feel more grounded, confident, and aligned with the version of yourself that’s been waiting to emerge.
I specialize in helping women reclaim their life by developing skills to overcome life’s challenges and maintain healthy boundaries. My strength is helping my clients find their inner peace and overcoming obstacles that get in their way of living a happy life.
My practice is designed for individuals who are ready to grow but feel weighed down by anxiety, overthinking, or the sense that they’re “stuck” in life. Many of my clients come to me at a crossroads—emotionally, professionally, or personally—and are looking for a space to pause, breathe, and realign with who they truly are. The clients I work best with are insightful, self-aware, and motivated for change—even if they’re unsure how to begin. You may have already tried to “fix” things yourself by reading self-help books, journaling, or pushing through, but you’re realizing that willpower alone isn’t enough. You value emotional growth and want therapy that feels real, collaborative, and empowering—not clinical or detached. You may crave deeper understanding, accountability, and practical tools to help you manage your emotions and move through life with more peace and purpose. You’ll find that my approach blends emotional insight with practical strategy. We’ll explore where your anxiety or stuckness comes from, while also developing actionable steps to help you move forward. Through this process, you’ll gain not only self-awareness but also the skills to navigate stress, transitions, and uncertainty with greater clarity and self-compassion. My goal is to help you stop merely surviving—and start living with intention, calm, and confidence.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is one of the primary approaches I use in my work with clients who are experiencing anxiety, feeling stuck, or navigating major life transitions. Over the years, I’ve seen how powerful CBT can be in helping clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors—and how small shifts in thinking can create meaningful, lasting change.
