Hello! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in Virginia with 3 years of experience. I also have an extensive background in education and teaching. I possess a M.Ed. from Lindsey Wilson as well as other degrees in Education, English, and Literature. I utilize my diverse background to help people navigate and tell their stories because each of us has a story that needs to be heard. I hope to help others on their journey to becoming the best version of themselves.
During our first meeting, we will get to know each other and work together to identify the problems you are facing as well as the goals that you want to accomplish during our time together.
I value building rapport and trust with all of my clients as this is a core component of the therapeutic experience. Above all, I work to make each individual feel seen and heard.
I often describe myself as a tour guide, utilizing techniques and skills to help individuals navigate through obstacles. I have a background working with client's with a variety of issues but have spent significant time honing skills to work with anxiety, depression, trauma, phase of life issues, and LGBTQIA+ issues.
Connection is a part of life that all of us crave. I incorporate person-centered practice into the care of every individual because, at our core, we all want and need to be heard by others.
CBT interventions and techniques are a core component of my work with people. Our thoughts have a strong impact on our daily experience, influencing our emotions and behaviors.
Each of us has a story to tell. I work with client's to show them that language holds power and that healing can come from harnessing the power of language.
EMDR is a trauma-focused intervention that has an evidence based background in treating disorders outside of simply trauma. EMDR offers its own set of coping skills that can be beneficial to clients who are not interested in processing events.
Each individual possesses their own unique strengths. I will help you to identify and utilize strengths to overcome obstacles and increase your ability to cope with life’s stressors.
