Hello, I'm Anthony. I earned my Master’s degree in Counseling and Human Services, with an emphasis in Clinical Mental Health from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, and hold a Bachelor's in Psychology. I am also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Crisis Prevention Intervention, and serve as a Crisis Intervention Trainer. My journey in mental health has equipped me with the skills to support diverse populations dealing with complex issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, self-care, relational issues, family issues, parenting, goal achievement, and persistent mental illness. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working as a child protection therapist assisting families in the judicial system, and as a mobile crisis clinician and crisis program supervisor throughout rural Colorado. In my private practice, I've worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, utilizing an eclectic style of therapy that blends life experience with established theory. My approach is rooted in creating a safe, respectful, and dignified environment where you can feel supported while being encouraged and challenged to grow toward your goals. I have a strong passion for mental health and helping others. My goal is to provide an environment characterized by safety, respect, dignity, and support while also encouraging and challenging people to keep growing toward their goals. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or need support as a military veteran, I'm here to help. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer or require remote sessions. If you're ready to take the next step in your journey, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can work towards achieving your goals and improving your well-being.
Clients can expect a space that feels grounded, safe, and collaborative — a place where they can show up as they are without fear of judgment. My goal is to create an environment where you feel heard, supported, and also challenged to step into your strengths. Each session is tailored to your needs and goals. You can expect to walk away with greater clarity, tools to manage stress or emotional overwhelm, and insights that support your long-term growth. Whether we’re focusing on processing trauma, building healthier relationships, or developing practical coping strategies, we’ll work together to create meaningful change that fits your life and values.
I place a strong emphasis on helping clients build self-awareness, emotional regulation skills, and resilience. Over time, many clients report increased confidence in navigating life’s challenges, improved communication, and a deeper connection to themselves and others.
I work best with clients who are navigating major life transitions, unresolved trauma, identity-related challenges, or high-functioning anxiety. Many of my clients are deep thinkers, high achievers, or individuals who have spent years "pushing through" only to find themselves feeling stuck, disconnected, or overwhelmed. I’m especially well-suited for those seeking a nonjudgmental space to explore meaning, values, and self-acceptance—whether they are veterans, professionals facing burnout, or individuals questioning aspects of identity or direction in life. I meet clients with authenticity, curiosity, and respect, helping them reconnect with their strengths, process their pain, and move toward a life that feels congruent and fulfilling.
I use DBT to help clients build skills in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness. Whether we're navigating intense emotions or managing conflict, I guide clients in applying these skills to real-life challenges in a way that’s validating and growth-oriented.
CBT is one of the foundational tools I use to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that contribute to anxiety, depression, and self-doubt. Together, we work to reframe thinking, build healthy behaviors, and create practical strategies for lasting change.
As a certified EMDR therapist, I help clients process trauma and reduce emotional distress tied to past experiences. EMDR allows the brain to reprocess painful memories in a safe, structured way—leading to relief from symptoms and a deeper sense of healing and clarity.
My approach is grounded in a genuine, person-centered connection. I use humanistic principles to create a safe space where clients feel seen, heard, and supported. Therapy becomes a collaborative process focused on self-acceptance, authenticity, and personal growth.
In my work with clients, I often draw on existential therapy to explore questions around identity, purpose, and freedom. This approach helps clients make meaning out of life’s challenges, clarify values, and live in a way that feels intentional and authentic to them.
